Response to Prompt 1

I would say it depends on what you're watching. When I watch basketball, golf or baseball with my fiance' I don't see violence as a factor of the sport itself. But when he turns to things like wrestling, hockey and even ufc I believe it's called that, then I see extreme violence. I mean wrestling and hockey have always been a violent sport but there were rules and when I saw the ufc sport on television, I had to turn my head. There are no rules! It seems like you beat the crap out of your opponent and get a title. I never even seen so much blood come from a single sport on a regualr basis. Then I look at fight I've seen in my school or around my old neighborhood basically doing the same thing to another person and they go to jail for it. It puzzles me how on televison it's like a sport and on the streets it is considered violence. I can;t see how blood shed from someone can ever be counted as a victory. It's not something to be excited over. It's something you should be ashamed of. My fiance' watches it and enjoys himself while I feel disgusted because to teens and even some ignorant adults it send the wrong message. Violence is no a sport nor is it a talent. That type of nonsense should be frowned upon!
